I have come to a juncture in my life I honestly never thought I would come to. I am graduating from college in 5 short months. This is something I have always planned on doing, of course, but I had always planned on just moving from being a student to being a mother/homemaker. But, as we know, life never seems to go as we plan it, does it?
After graduation I plan to find a full time job in Public Relations, hopefully in an area where I can be involved in event management. I started researching PR firms in the Boise area (because that's most likely where we will be moving after we finish here.) At first I got really excited to apply to all of these great places and then when I started really thinking about my qualifications, interviews, competition, and the daunting thought of having a "grown up" full time job I started to worry. I have realized I need more experience to show potential employers what I can bring to the table.

Last week I sent in my resume for a special events internship with
Well I got a call for an interview at 9:30 this morning...
I had my interview at 1:30 this afternoon...
and she gave me the position on the spot!
I am so excited! I am going to be heading up the Idaho Falls "WALK MS" event! It is a walk-a-thon sort of like Race for the Cure, but for multiple sclerosis. I will be working with recruitment (for volunteers, participants, and businesses that want to donate), marketing, logistics, and everything in between! The internship runs from January through May (when the event is) so we will for sure be staying in Rexburg until then!
I am so happy to have this to look forward to, I know it will be a great experience- hopefully one that will help me get a great job come next May. Even though life isn't going quite as I had planned I am still happy with it and am looking forward to what the future holds!
