A few weeks ago I was at work at LDS Philanthropies and one of the ladies there was saying how the day before she had bought a bunch of peaches from a guy who had a stand out of his truck. (Please don't freak out, here in Idaho thats just a way of life, we buy food from strangers on the side of the road...no big deal...). and it got me thinking, I should CAN peaches! We are constantly being told how important food storage is and what better way to follow the prophet, right?
So I tracked down someone who sold me a big box of yummy peaches for just $13! and they weren't on the side of the road... they were in a potato manufacturing plant :) haha! I read a little "how to" guide on-line and called my Mom and this was the result!
This was my first time canning, and I must say it was a lot of fun, I would definitely do it again!

Kudos! Kudos! I haven't done my peaches for this year yet, so you are one up on me! I get my peaches friday, from a VERY reliable source (non of this side of the road, potatoe whatever for me ;) That wouldn't work too well down here! Awesome job! Can't wait to see you two @ Christmas!
Great job Tar!!! I just did salsa on Monday. It turned out great. To bad we can't swap a couple jars =). If you're in the mood to do more I can send you my salsa recipe. It's really easy (just annoying to have to cut up/cook all the stuff- it's cooked salsa, not fresh...)
Traci- I would love to get the recipe! Chris and I usually make fresh salsa twice a week as it is, it would be nice to have some ready on hand for us! post it or e-mail it to me at tara.andrus@rocketmail.com
Are you all settled in? I havent heard from you in a while!
AWESOME!!! I am highly impressed!!
